The Fibromelanistic Ayam Cemani

Ayam Cemani are internationally admired for their dramatic all-black appearance caused by fibromelanism, a rare genetic trait that increases melanin throughout the bird.

True-to-type Ayam Cemani display:

• jet-black feathers with green iridescence

• black combs and wattles

• black skin and tongue

• dark internal pigmentation

• striking overall presentation

These traits are associated with the EDN3 gene, a hallmark of authentic Cemani genetics.
